A Message From Kent

I am a recovering Pharisee. Raised in a Christian home, educated in Christian schools, engaged in Christian work, Jesus broke into my life any way when I was 37 years old. He came right through the wall of pretense of appearances and hard work that I had erected around me and said, “Trust me!” I awoke the next day seared in my soul and open to the Gospel of grace in which my hope and my reality became Christ alone.

His love won’t let me go. I worship a God who ever grows in my understanding full of wonder and majesty and continues to transform my mind and heart to enjoy the wide-open spaces of His love. The Crucifixion of Christ, the Son of God, and His resurrection to eternal life sweeping me along in His embrace carries me from a life of proud effort, conflict and shameful malice and failure into acceptance of His love and a passion to pass it on. The most devastating thing that I’ve ever encountered is God’s grace because it is all God and none of me.

Prayer is opening up myself to God the Father, my Abba, in surrendered thoughts, feelings, hopes and doubts, holding nothing back for myself in complete trust that He will work in all things for good of me and those with who encounter in family, friendship and work. His existence and His intention of love expressed to me in the unique saving mission of Jesus Christ and my responsive “Yes” to His call forms who I am and what I write and speak. While He is unique, I am not and my fondest hope is that you will know and enjoy His love for yourself and will follow Him wherever He leads. This web-site and writings are consecrated to that purpose.
